Mohammad.Saide:(Staff Reporter):- BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has urged the government and political parties not to push the country further towards chaos and destruction.Speaking at a rally organized by Dhaka District BNP in Dhamrai’s Jatrabari field on Monday, Fakhrul emphasized the need for reforms and a return to democratic governance.Addressing the crowd, Fakhrul stated, “The current government was brought to power with the support of students, public, and political parties. We had high hopes that the government would implement necessary reforms and quickly restore people`s right to vote. However, a new game has begun. Some parties are now advocating for local government elections before the national elections. I urge them not to push the country further towards destruction and anarchy.”The rally, organized to demand the reduction of essential commodity prices, improvement of the deteriorating law and order situation, announcement of an election roadmap, and resistance against state-sponsored fascism, saw a large gathering of BNP leaders and activists. Fakhrul reiterated the party`s commitment to supporting the government in ensuring a fair and inclusive electoral process.Fakhrul said, “From the beginning, we have cooperated and discussed various reform proposals. Everyone must remember that the opportunity we have now should not be wasted. Our enemies are trying to provoke us into taking the law into our own hands, but we must remain patient and work together to move the country towards elections. The people`s representatives must be elected through a democratic process.”He criticized the Awami League government for its alleged attempts to eliminate opposition parties and destroy democratic institutions over the past 15 years. Fakhrul accused the government of systematically dismantling the electoral system, citing the uncontested election of 154 candidates in 2014 as an example. He also referenced the recent vandalism of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s residence at Dhanmondi 32, stating that it was a consequence of the government`s actions.Fakhrul said, “A few days ago, I saw Hasina crying and saying, “We turned my father’s house at Dhanmondi 32 into a museum, and even that has been destroyed. What is my crime?” The crime, Hasina said is that “you have conspired to destroy a nation, stripped people of their rights, sold the country, attempted to destroy religion, and distorted history.
